Retired professional hunting guide and Secretary for Safari Club International New Zealand Chapter, Elected Life Member, SCINZ and the NZPHGA.
Attended his first SCI in the USA in 1981 as the first NZ outfit to show at SCI and annually until 2004. Appointed “Official Scorer” in 1983 for the Safari Club Trophy Record Book and qualified as a Master Measurer in 1993. Trophy Record Book’s only authorised SCI Record Book Instructor for the South Pacific.
Elected Vice President, South Pacific, of the International Professional Hunters Assn in 1987 and became President in 2000, first for the South Pacific and Life Member.
Very involved with the Game and Forest Foundation and the introduction of the Game Animal Council Legislation and appointed one of the inaugural Councillors.
Strongly believes that Tahr in New Zealand should be managed to provide a resource for New Zealand hunters and visiting international hunters with a sustainable level of huntable numbers while ensuring the protection of their habitat. Believes strongly that the availability of Tahr are paramount for a successful hunting industry in New Zealand.
